The Hastings Conservation Commission partnered with NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Trees for Tribs program to restore this brook, which runs from Ravensdale Road into the Saw Mill River at Exit 12 on the SMR Parkway. Lower Burke Estate - Hastings’ Wetland

The Hastings Conservation Commission has teamed up with HHS grad Avery McGuire and HHS' AP Environmental Science team to restore the rich, riverine habitat of the Lower Burke. With student volunteers, Avery is removing invasive species and trash and replanting with deer-resistant natives. Click here for lots of good info about this project, including history.
