Hastings Zero Waste Advisory Taskforce
Visit the ZWAT website for all you need to know. ZWAT is a subcommittee of Hastings' Conservation Commission whose mission is to reduce waste in our village. ZWAT runs the TILI garage and advises Hastings board, village staff, schools and residents on matters related to solid waste managment and diverting resources to better use.
Open non-holiday Sundays when the weather cooperates, TILI is a fun free swap shop. Run entirely by a corps of dedicated volunteers, TILI helps people recycle usable items and promotes a sharing economy. About 700 items arrive at TILI on an average Sunday, which amounts to more than 20,000 items per year. About 120 people frequent TILI on an average day (people bring or take more than one item each).
See the ZWAT TILI page for more information and closure alerts
Initiated by Hastings residents Lindsey Taylor and Ariella Gastel, Rivertowns Repair Café grew out of Hastings Repair Café and is now part of Repair Café Hudson Valley. RRC hosts fix-it events throughout the Rivertowns. Get your stuff fixed free, learn how to fix, and volunteer to be a fixer if you have some know-how!
